Default Help choosing Heat Transfer paper

I searched the forums to find some concisive advice on choosing paper, but I'm still a bit confused.

We purchased a Geo.Knight DKS20 press and K3 mug press and Epson 1280s (one for sublimation and the other for inkjet transfers), from Best-Blanks.com. We have been using the paper that came with our package and they seem to be doing okay. However I'm sure that there are other papers out there that will give us the professional results we would like.

We will be printing on light and dark shirts, as well as polyesther flags, mugs, mouse pads, etc....

What papers do you perfer and (if you don't mind) why. And are the papers you use a cost effective way to go.

Thanks so much in advance.

Barb

Hi Barb, the ironall/jetflex paper (same paper, different names) seems to be the preferred paper for light garments. If you do a forum search for ironall (or iron all), you'll find lot of tips and experiences about why people like that paper.

For dark garments, I don't know if there is an "opaque" paper that is *really* good.

Thanks Rodney!

Since I posted that question I did a little more browsing.. I must be really thick! Or else I just can't see the forest for the trees, so to speak.

I did call bestblanks.com this after noon. They have an opaque "material" that adheres to the inkjet paper for dark clothing. Our rep said that it has a white background that adheres to the shirt and provides the necessar white for the inks to show up.

He basically said the same thing you did. That there really isn't a "one step" ink jet paper for darks.

At any rate, I'll do the search you suggested....

Thanks again,
Barb
