Default I know this has been posted before but Hot Split on Dark, does it work??

First Edition is telling me they have to double print the Hot Splits to go on black shirts which is 50% more charge.

Does this have to be done for the Hot Split to work on the dark shirts?

We like the softness of the Hot Split transfer but is there anyway to consistantly get this effect on dark shirts with another type that may be less expensive??

Hot-splits do work on dark shirts. You are going to want hot-splits because the cold peels they do are thick and glossy. I ordered some single color white cold peels for black shirts. The transfers printed fine but I didnt like the look. I tried hot-peel or hot-splitting them and they actually worked and looked better for my application. The opacity wasnt as good as the cold peel finished look but it was perfect for what I needed. I wont tell you it will work as well for you but it did meet my needs. I personally would just order the hot-splits straight away from FE or another company that specializes in this technique.

The short answer: NO.
There are suppliers that offer this product standard (no excess charges) and it is opaque.
