Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
I got an order for a birthday and it went disastrous. The print was cracking as I was peeling off the paper, leaving gaps in the image. I thought maybe it was the tee as it was 80/20 elastane. I got 100% cotton tee and the same thing kept happening. I thought it was the temp so I adjusted to lower, same thing. I tried again as I didnt want to give up and had an hour to appear with the shirt and this time, some of the image and text printed well and the others started cracking again as i was peeling the paper. Im not sure what went wrong. I previously tested the paper before with no problems, so why now when I could actually make a buck or two????? I went through 5 tees before i gave up.

Fresh.....
What setting were you using (time, temp, pressure)? I haven't experienced this before but I know something has changed with my latest batch of Iron All regarding flakeing. I'm wondering if there is a bonding / adhesiion problem with the surface of the transfer to its backing. Just a guess on my part.
that was i was thinking. because when i previously tested it was with a different batch from milford. I pressed for 15-20 secs and at 350f. .
I thought the press time for ironall was 25-30 seconds at 375F. That's what my instruction sheet says for both IronAll and the JetFlex paper from imprintables.com
yes, definitely press at 375F for 25 seconds, on medium pressure. also, make sure your press is actually the temp it claims to be. an infared heat gun will give you an accurate surface temp reading.

Yep...that was going to be my response. Try bringing up the temp and time a bit to see what happens.
The thread here has a comment from lou on pressing 350F at 16 seconds. I have been doing 375 at 16 seconds with no problem.
i noticed a bit less washability at 350 for 15. just my experience though. not saying it won't work at that setting. 375 for 15 might work a bit better though. ive had excellant results(washability and hand) with 375 for 25 with med. pressure.

It depends on your definition of accurate. Read this thread.
Make sure you heat up your lower platen for 20-30 seconds before your first press and that you pre-press the shirt. You could have a lot of moisture that's causing the transfer to not stick.
