Default Problem with Epson 1280 need help.

I bought a epson 1280 several months ago. I've been using Magic Mix Inks.

I was getting some weird colors while printing so I knew my cartridge needed to be replaced. I replaced the color cartridge. Now I get the middle light staying solid. The book says if both of the power lights and the ink light are lit that means it's out of ink. Well it's a new cartridge so that's not it. It says if it's still lit after replacing "you may have installed a cartridge your printer can't use."

I put in the old cartrige and still the problem, I also put in the standard oem color cartridge and still the same problem.

Any suggestions? I'm now stuck it won't print.

Thanks for any help you can offer. This forum has helped me several times.

Thanks and God Bless.

Bryan

The 1280 cartridge has a chip in the back that tells the printer it is new and how much ink has been used. (The chip doesn't really know what the ink level is)

If you put in a new Magic mix cart and the printer thinks it is empty, the chip must not have been reset correctly before it was shipped to you.

Get in contact with personalized supplies and tell them your problem.
