Default Keeping Transfers: how should they be stored?

Hello
How should unprinted transfers be stored. ?I normally store all my stuff on my desk in a huge pile and yell at everyone when I can't find it. I just don't think tha will work with the transfers tho :-)

I have ordered some IronAll from Milford and some Transjet from Coastal.
Oh and some glow in the darks for my kid.

Thanks
Mark

I have heard that new (unused) pizza boxes make good storage containers for transfers.

Sealed Tupperware is good at avoiding humidity/moisture/drying damage (as long as it's sealed in ideal conditions, and not whiole the shower's running).

What I heard is you could place wax and/or parchment paper between the pieces of paper. You do have to watch humidity and temperature, though.

we use plastic storage bins from target. like the christmas ornament ones. works real well and you can list everything inside with a sharpie.

I have a friend who works for Ikon and he says they recommedn for any paper to be stored flat in a tupperware type container. He even gave me a bunch of those little dessicant pouches to help keep paper dry.

Silica Gel. That's a great idea I'd say. I don't know easy it is to find en masse, but throwing a few of those guys into each pizza box/tupperware container/etc. would help keep things dry.

Oversized ziplock bags work pretty good as well

pretty much anything that will keep humidity away from the transfers will work.

I bought a stack of pizza boxes at sam's club. Easy to stack and very accessable.

Can it damage transfers if stored in cold environment? I have a few in a big filing cabinet, not had any problems yet, it gets very cold at night (UK cold that is not US/Canada cold!) I guess moisture is a bigger problem?

Wouldn't plastisol transfers react quite badly with silica gel after a while?

Would they? I don't think they really would, personally, but I could be mistaken as I've never tried it. I suppose you'd want to run an 'extreme' test (dump a bunch of packets of Silican gel on one transfer and seal 'em up or something) first just to make sure though.
