is equipped with DuraBrite ink or you have to buy this special pigment ink separately ? The above site tells about amazing effects with DuraBrite, however it says nothing about cartridges included. Would this printer and some opaque specilized paper + an iron, suffice to print relatively simple patterns on a few dark teeshirts just for personal use ? Thanks for your time to read this.
Re: Would Epson D88 do it and cartridges included ?
The site says:
# Amazing results with DURABrite Ultra ink
# Individual ink tanks for economy
From that description, it sounds like the ink is included with the printer.

Yes, that will suffice for personal use. If you were planning to sell the shirts I would recommend a heat press.
Re: Would Epson D88 do it and cartridges included ?
Thank you, Jason !
Just kidding, Jasonda .
Yeah, they would only be for personal use, because the ones available in shops are usually dull. I am thinking of getting this printer and I also believe that ink cartridges are included. However, I have no idea if the included ones are DuraBrite or some low-grade stuff. Talking to assistants in Pc World is like talking to lamp posts, so I would also apperciate input from someone who actually bought this model.

Yes, they usually equip the printer with the type of ink it mainly takes, so your printer would come with durabrite ink. You can also find info about the printer at epson.com
Re: Would Epson D88 do it and cartridges included ?
Thanks guys. I had actually researched Epson's website on D88. It tells us about DuraBrite ink, there is also a page describing how good it is...However it never explicitly says that DuraBrite ink is INCLUDED with this particular model. So you have to find out what ink number ( i.e. T0611 (Black) ) goes with your printer and then look up DuraBrite numbers, to see whether they are the same or not. What I found, they are identical, which suggest that you, guys, are right. That little research made me spend far longer time on their website. If they just said something like "T0611 (Black) DURABRITE ink INCLUDED" in the model description, then i would have known all I need in a few seconds. Instead, they have drawn me into their website's reality, so I can start spending. Funny when you realize it on your own .
Re: Would Epson D88 do it and cartridges included ?
Yes it does. The d88 is the foregn version of the c88 here in USA.. Is there anything I don't know? lol.. All printers come with inks, either durabrite (pigment) or Dye.. never, never, never, let a sales person tell you that the inks are just samples and you need to buy more.. They come with full inks. Ok, I am gonna purchase this printer then. I really appreciate your participation, it was great help, as I have almost no experience with printers. Cheers !

It's so funny you said this. I just heard this a couple of weeks ago when buying a new fax machine/printer. They cashier at staples asked if I wanted to buy ink because the printer only came with "starter" inks.
I almost thought it was a myth that sales people actually said that...I had to hold back the laughter.

Some do, but not these. A pal once bought a Lexmark printer that only came with the driver cd and a power cord. He had to supply everything else - usb cable, inks, etc.
But I have never seen a Canon or Epson printer yet that didn't come with full inks.
Re: Would Epson D88 do it and cartridges included ?
Oh - one more thing about the C88 box and ink - in one corner of the box is a guide to picking the right OEM ink off the shelf without having to remember the actual part number - an image unique to the cartridge style. I like that they did it that way, and wish other companies did as well.
