Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
We have an old football Jersey that was sold by the local high school as a fundraiser. The numbers were all cracked and peeling so I had a thought to put in in the heat press. I tried 300F at 5 seconds with teflon sheet over it and bingo! the ink melted into the cracks and they started to go away. I don't know how well this will hold up over time but it looks 1000% better than it did.
yeah, if there is enough plastisol ink on the shirt that sure helps making it better sometimes... I've also fixed up some that way, using a teflon, heat press it and removing/peeling the teflon cold.
heat press it and removing/peeling the teflon cold.
I peeled hot, but then again I was only at 300F and 5 seconds. I have a few other shirts that have cracks in the screen printing so I will try those out.
For the record, the numbers are white ink and very thick. The shirt has the little holes in them and the ink filled those too.
