Default INK - average number of T-shirts you could print using the Epson C88+?

I was wondering if anyone knows the average number of T-shirts you could print using the Epson C88+ color cartridge?

I'm back!!! There is a reason they say I love Lucy,, Anyway, yes I pretty much know.. but I could be off a few this way are that way. But the average is about 75. You are looking at an average of about 80 cents per transfer with an 8 x 11. One of the reason to use a CIS system. You could bring that down to about 25 cents. The rest of the money can be put in your pocket.

CIS = Continuous Ink System, AKA "bulk ink".

Continuous ink system - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Basically it's a replacement for the regular ink cartridges that come with the inkjet printer. It's a bigger investment up front, but you save money in the long run.

I do not use the CIS system with my C88+
It is a good way to save money. At the moment I have NO problems with clogging heads using the standard durabrite inks. Does not matter how long the printer sits without use. Absolutley stunning pics on Tees !

Lou is right, I get about 75 prints with a set of carts.
Also, you can expect to use almost twice as much black as other colors with the durabrite inks.

I have heard once 3rd party inks are introduced into the printer, head clogging can be a issue especially when leaving the printer off for weeks.

Good luck Lou with your T-square it.

Don

Your right, in fact it might not even be weeks. It could be days. A lot depends on the environment of your working area. Liquid evaporates and dries up and ink is liquid. make a test print everyday if you can.

What about refillable cartridges ? Would this stop the clogging and evaporation .

I get about 50 full face portraits working with legal size paper ( spectrabrite ) from JBL graphics. If other type graphics are used maybe 70 prints. I do not have a software profile for consistent colors, but need one. So far I test print small samples on scrap shirts to adjust color. Without a profile the colors on the screen is not what they will be on the shirt. A profile can also be had from JBL graphics too. Wash durability is suprisingly good on 50/50 shirts. Shirts printed months ago and washed colors still look as good as when made.

Good Luck.

Don
