1. Should I forget about my Epson 1280 and just get a c88 because it will be less of a hassle with a bulk ink system?
It probably depends on the volume you'll be doing. I don't think everyone needs a CIS system, but if you're doing the volume, it might help. I think there might even be CIS systems for the 1280 (but don't quote me on that)
Re: A bunch of questions: ink jet transfers and printers
I think the original question was more referring to the hassle of using a bulk ink system with the 1280 as opposed to the C88 - not asking wheter to use a CIS at all.
I think the answer to that question depends on wheter or not you'll be printing larger than 8x10.5 designs. If you will, the 1280 is probably your only choice; people DO tend to report more problems getting this model to work with bulk ink systems than other models, but it should eventually work well after some frustration and tweaking =)
Re: A bunch of questions: ink jet transfers and printers
Hi all,
I'm new to this and have been spending hours reading all the forums. Seems like the more I read, the more I realize how little I know ;o( I want to purchase all my equipment in the next couple of weeks, but now I'm confused about the type of ink system to get. I'm planning on doing t-shirts and mugs, so I will get 2 printers, one for pigment ink and one for sub ink. But now the question is, do I need to purchase a CIS system for both printers? What type of volume do you need to justify purchasing a CIS system? Rodney, I was surprised to read in one of your posts that you do not use a CIS system. So, what to do you use? just cartridges?
