Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
I purchased my system over a year ago and have not done much with it. I have a 1280 printer. I have a bulk ink system hooked up to it with some generic ink. I printed off some shirts in the beginning then let it sit for quite a few months. When I made shirt later, the ink was horrible. Not the same color or anything. I know this is my fault. I didn't plug up the little air holes and I think moisture got into the ink as my basement doesn't have a dehumidifier.
ANYWAY...I want to just kind of start over. I want to get a whole new bulk ink system and just pitch this one. I've been trying to use up the ink in the printer to print up documents so I'm not wasting a ton of ink.
So I guess I was just hoping someone could direct me to the perfect bulk system for me to get. I kind of want to hear angels sing hallelujah when I am directed to the site.
On a side not, I was wondering if maybe I should just buy the c88 printer because of all of the frustrations people I've heard with the 1280. I know I already have this printer but if the c88 works more flawlessly, I'd rather get it and a bulk system for it.
So bulk ink systems are notorious for being problematic?
Basically I just want to know if I should just forget about my 1280 and get a c88. And also where should I get a bulk ink system for either that has the magic mix ink which I am assuming is the best ink to get for transfer printing.
I think if you let any system sit, you're going to have problems with it.
I had big problems with my c88+ without a CIS system because I let it sit too long.
I actually have a bulk ink system but I think I'm going to pitch it because it doesn't look easy to refill and because I let that ink get moisture in it. So I think I will get this ink system in the picture but can you tell me if that everlast ink would be a wise purchase or do you recommend the magic mix?

People have had success with both inks. So different people will recommend different brands.
I don't use a CIS, so I wouldn't recommend either
Lou (badalou) uses (and I think he recommends) the everlast one. I've read that the magic mix inks are good as well.
I'm using the MagicFlow CIS from AlphaSuppy along with their TransMagic Inks. Setup wasn't so difficult, just followed the step by step instructions they supplied.
I'm happy with both... except at the moment I'm annoyed with my C88+ printer. I can't get a good nozzle check out of the cyan. But the good folks at Alpha Supply told me not to worry. They are going to walk me through how to fix it tomorrow.
