Default Heat Press Recommendation???

Can anyone recommend a good heat press? In my classroom, I have a drymount/laminating press left over from a photo lab (which I hate--it smells up the entire room like fried rubber). Can I stick with this (and just replace the rubber pad) or is this a completely different piece of equipment from a heat press? (It's made by Seal, probably been around for about 10 years, the temp dial goes to 350 degrees F but it's hard to get the temp very precise, it's not digital).

I can go new if I need to and I can probably go up to $1000(??)--any recommendations on a good one? Any makes/models to look for or avoid?

Thanks!
Debra

The Seal can not be used as a heat press. As far as what types of heat press check with under sponsors links in left column. Josh at Imprintables Warehouse (Forum members get discounts) is very helpful and active on the forum. You can also check with Coastal Business Supplies. They seem to get the most positive feedback on the forums. If you can go up to $1K by all means go with a 16 x 20 press.

I am assuming you want a press for tee's, sweats etc.

I am going with a 15 x 15 Mighty Press because of size and pricing.
