Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
hello there. forgive my ignorance but i sure would appreciate your advice because what i'll be doing won't necessarily be competeing with your business.
i plan to buy a heat press before the end of the week and am still a little confused.
i'll be doing t-shirts of all sizes as well as smaller garments for ladies and children. most of the images can be done in a 16x20 press.
however, i also want to do 'split images' like you would see on a hoodie and also the huge images that you see on some t-shirts.
the largest press i found is the hix 20x25 but i measured a size large t-shirt and it measures 36" from the tip to tip of the sleeve.
i probably answered my own question and should outsource for the large images like this. also, i've read a few posts that an image won't transfer very well because of the zipper but i can't find anything about the large images.
does anyone make a super large press and for that matter, does anyone make a transfer this large??? did i even make any sense??
thanks for you replies!
Call Geo. Knight company
Heatpress.com
They can answer all of your questions
I have used their products for over thirty years and have purchased almost a dozen machines during that time. I have either re-sold them when I upgraded or am still using them. Great product, great company, great people.
man oh man! thanks so much for the replies! much appreciated! just checked them out......calling them first thing in the morning.
after i get it, expect me to be on here quite a bit asking, "how do i do this?" or "how do i do that?". heh.
more money than brains i guess.....but i learn fast.
thanks again!
My suggestion for huddies with zippers... If you have a swingaway press..... Take a piece of plywood the size of the press and use a router to put a groove down the center for the zipper to fit into, just deep enough for the zipper flap to be even with the rest of the hoodie. You should then have a smooth even finish on the product. As for Finding heatpress paper large enough???? not found that yet. There is one company that has a oversized screen for printing all over prints. Name slips my mind right now. Still looking. Hope this helps. Oh, unless you go commercial grade the largest desktop wide format printer only prints 13 X 19. Next up would be like a HP 750c wide format, and have not found larger heat press paper for that.. Good luck.
