Default ALPS MD 5000 Transfer Paper

We have an ALPS MD-5000 and we are looking for transfer paper that we can use with it. What we are looking for is paper that self weeving and doesn't transfer the paper around it, just the ink. For our particular market, our customers will be doing the transfers themselves using a household iron (unfortunately, there is no way around this). Does anyone have any ideas on what the best paper for this would be and what is your experiences with it. Also, we are thinking of going with a laser printer vice the MD-5000 any thoughts on this? Greatly appreciate any help or ideas that anyone has.

Default Re: ALPS MD 5000 Transfer Paper

Most of Alps printers uses thermal wax ink technology. MY first printer was a Seiko that uses thermal wax ink until the manufacturer stop making the ink riboon for it. I used one step themal brite from Airwaves for 14 years. It was the only transfer that was halfway decent that leaves very little polymer and was durable.

You better off using laser printer or inkjet printer. There are two self weeding transfer for lights. Imageclip for inkjet and Imageclip for laser. I use both brands. Both are a bit tricky to use. When you get the proper settings the result would look, feel and durable like screen print.
