Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
I am new to the shirt business and am doing some research and found this site. I need a question answered and I can not find it on here. Can you use a heat press and do a design on the front and one on the back? I did not know if the heat would do anything to what ever one was done first when trying to do the second one. I am only looking at doing something on the heart in the front and then a full size on the back. Is this possible? I need help!!
Yes you can. it suggested you place a large mouse pad between in the shirt when you go to do the other side. We all do all the time. Lou

From my understanding the mousepad will take the heat and absorb it before it reaches the first side that had already been pressed making the heat that is being applied to the second side from creating any type of distortion or ruining the design that is already present on the shirt.

I got my 14 x 17 mouse pad from Office depot. It was $10.00

Any transfer you are pressing.

with the press I use, I just load the shirt onto it, so the other side of the shirt is actually under the press, not near the heat. I haven't seen many presses, but I get the impression you can do this with a lot of them. for shirts too small to load over the machine (ladies' M and smaller), I use a teflon pillow.
