Default Mug Problems

Well I have only done 8 mugs and my success rate is pretty poor. When doing photos that take up most of the mug, the bottom 1/2 inch is very faded. Could this be a pressure problem? How much is medium pressure? I even chipped one mug. Any suggestions greatly accepted. many thanks ED

Hi Ed..could be a few things, heat, pressure and most important how far the transfer paper goes past the bottom of the mug. To get the best results put the wrap on the mug and then set the mug in the palm of your hand and make sure the paper doesnt go past the bottom of the mug. Top is ok but the bottom has a sharper edge and doesn't allow the paper to stay against the mug...jim

Depends if your mug press element goes past the bottom of the mug most mug press you can adjust the rubber base to lift your mug higher, secondly you can try to heat the bottom of the mug first on a heat plate etc as the bottom of the mug is a lot thicker and takes longer to reach the correct temp. Thirdly if you put to much pressure on your mug it can warp the bottom of the heat pad pulling it away from the mug base

Default Re: Mug Problems

Ive had this problem at the TOP of mugs when Ive forgotton to take out the extra mug stand. (Theres 2 in the bottom of mine but I only need one for my regular mugs)

Therefore could it be that you need your mug a little higher up in the press?
