how do i go about doing heat transfers? will they last long?
ok for a project in school i need to create and run a mini company, and i have chosen to do tshirt printing. where you can get what you want written on them or choose from some of my own designs, along with my company logo in the bottom right corner. ive found a place not far from me that does printing but it could end up being very epensive. so i now have decided to try making the tshirts myself using heat transfers??
ultimately i want to find out which is the best method to do this. i want to make long lasting ones, ones that dont get ruined after a few washes? .. because i'll be selling them mostly at school and people wont be happy with me if the dont last a reasonable amount of washes.
i really dont have a clue in this and the way to go about doing it? whats the best thing i can do? .. or would it be better for me to get them done professionaly. please help!

Sounds like you should investigate having custom transfers made. They are high quality and might outlast the shirt. There are several Preferred Vendors who can fill your needs.

First you need to decide on a design or designs you want to use. Then you need to figure out what type of shirt you will offer. Then you can have what we call plastisol transfers made. (There are many threads on this forum that can help you understand what plastisol transfers are.)Or you can as Ed said buy stock transfers and offer those. If you have the place you mentioned do them then you need to present to them your design. You also want to learn about vector art to make this process easier.
