Smile can I varnish over a GCVP thats been printed by versacamm

I have a customer thats making a wooden table/chair set for his granddaughters and would like their names on it -i was going to print their names on the versacamm on GCVP and he wants to do a varnish over the top to "set it" so it can be easily wiped off for years-I;m sure it will have lots of spills of every kind on it.

Do you have any suggestions??

I wasn't sure if the varnish would ruin the GCVP and the ink.
