Default Mug Problens

Hi all well maybe I,m the MUG.... Just did my first mugs, well it wasn't a complete disaster. Had a few problems, not knowing the correct temperature and time settings. Finally I settled on 180 degrees C and 200 seconds. First mug was a bit washed out, second...getting better, third was good but after following instructions, I plunged it into "room temperature" water. That tinkle tinkle sound is not nice! (bugger, another pencil holder) Next mug was a photo, well that looked like crap. Colors didn't come out well at all. Washed out and a green tinge. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (I'm running out of blanks!) thanks Ed

We press mugs at 400 degrees Fahrenheit or between 204-205 degrees Celsius and press them for about 5 minutes. We are using a mug press adapter to our GEO Knight 994 multi-press, hence the longer time and temperature settings. There are some additional suggestions here on the Coastal Business Graphics website. Information Library - Sublimation Information

I hope this helps.

I do my mugs in a Hix mug press at 400 degrees for 4.5 minutes.
When you put it in the water don't dunk it in really fast as the shock of the temp change could
crack it. I sort of ease it in slowly. You will still get that tinkle sound but thats normal.
Some people use a fan to cool instead of water.
