Hey Guys,

New to the forum!

I have a dilemma. I'm not sure what to do.

I'm not looking to start a "business" business, I just want to make and sell my designs on t-shirts on Etsy.com or something similar.

I'm not sure if I should invest in a heat press & transfers. And I don't really want to go the screen printing route because my designs usually have alot of different colors.

I want to have good quality prints on my shirts and bags.
I'm just not sure what to do... Any suggestions?

There are a few ways you can go here. A vinyl cutter, a printer/cutter, or DTG.

A vinyl cutter is going to be your cheapest point of entry. This will allow you to quickly and easily create single color designs, lettering and numbering. Multi color designs can also be achieved as well by cutting and pressing each individual color.

A printer/cutter will allow you to print and cut full color transfer for nearly any type of fabric in any color regardles of how many colors. This system is perfect for full color custom and short to mid quantity runs. Some items you can do here are t-shirts, sweatshirts, shorts, pants, hats, gloves, bags, socks, decals, posters, banners, vehicle graphics, wall graphics, etc.

DTG or direct to garment printing, will allow you to print full color directly to shirts.

Thank you so much! I have someone who does digital printing onto shirts at $9 a shirt with no setup fees or anything. Do you think this would be better than doing it myself?

Is he selling you the finished products for $9.00? Depending on the route that you may take, you can do this for much cheaper your self. Plus you are in total control of everything you do.

If you don't have experience in creating or producing decorated apparel, you may want to initially sub out work until you become more familiar with everything.

Well I take him my shirts and he prints on them and gives them back to me for $9.

I was looking at going heatpress and transfers. But ordering transfers seems soooo expensive. And I have to order a ton just to get a deal.
