where do you see them referenced?

hot peel just normally signifies how soon you peel the transfer off of the garment. hot peel means you can peel it right away, cold peel means you can peel it after it cools.

opaque transfer paper is one specfic type of transfer that you can print from your home computer with an inkjet printer. Specifically, it's used for putting images on dark colored garments.

They are different. But both are done on your computer. One (Hot Peel)is for light or white shirts and printed as a mirror image and goes face down on the shirt. Then it is press that the transfer is removed while hot. An opaque transfer is printed on your computer but the image is not mirrored and it is placed on your shirt face up and the backing is removed and you place a parchment sheet over it as you press. see videos.
