Default Thermoflex and stretchy tees

I have to do a couple shirts for some girls for hollowween, They are slim and stretchy..So my problem is if I pressed on the text and they wear it..it will look funny,So I was thinking of sliding in a piece of rigid non corrugated cardboard inside the shirt to stretch first then apply the thermoflex, does this sound right?
Thanks for any help.

It will still look funny - when you remove the cardboard, the shirt will unstretch and bunch up around the thermoflex.

We used Elasticut on some bathing suits since it stretches a bit, might work better for your use? Check with Josh at Imprintables, I'm sure he could tell you the best thing to use...
