Unhappy Epson 1280 banding

I'm printing transfers on an Epson 1280. Midway through each print I get banding. I printed nozzle checks that come out fine. My design size is about 9X11 and as mentioned midway I get banding. If I print a smaller design I have no problem. I am using a refilled cartridge and I waited over 24 hours before printing with it to give time for any air to dissapate and even after 48 hours the problem didn't correct itself. By the time I get this worked out, I'll end up having to refill and basically start the problem from scratch. Since the banding is only through half the design I can't figure out how to fix this.

Thumbs up Re: Epson 1280 banding - Found the FIX

After no replies and much searching, I was finally led to do some testing on my own and found that my problem was that I was using the default printer setting of "economy" and at high speed print mode, which apparently uses less ink and thus created the banding. I probably could have also tried adjusting the paper lever from "0" and that may have also helped but I got tired of wasting paper and @ $2.40 a sheet it wasn't worth the trouble. Perhaps later on I'll give it a try as it may allow me to use less ink. I ended up using the custom setting and using the "Photo" setting, at high speed and I got a great print! The "Best Photo" setting looked no better and I'm sure used more ink. Hope this help any of you that are running into the problem and were without relief!
