well im kinda new to this. i have a heat press its an energy efficent one i got on ebay.. seems to be pretty nice. digi thermostat, yatta yatta...
anywyas i got this image that looked like it was on a piece on plastic i put a piece of the wax paper stuff that comes with my heat transfer stuff on top, and pressed it at 350 it worked nice! even better than my stapels brand ink transfer paper ive been using previously.
its an image that says save our planet its the only one with chocolate! with a picture of the earth and a recycle logo..
is this a commen type of transfer paper?
the ink seem to be more rubbery..
any info?
and im also haveing discoloration issues when i press.. the area outside the image gets burned almost mayb my heat is to high?
certain coloured shirts (like red)will often get a brown colour to them that goes away after cooling off.. otherwise you may be cooking too high.
From what I see hear it looks like JetPro soft stretch JPSS, (I cant recall what for darks) are popular transfers. There are alot of topics here about them.
Gibson, I use JPSS for very light fabrics. I use Jet Opaque by Neenah for colored fabrics, with good results. By the way I contour cut the Jet Opaque with a vinyl cutter, to eliminate the very white areas. Mike
i looked into the jpss stuff.. i dont think its what i had.. it looked like it was on a piece of that clear plastic paper u can use to write with dry erase markers and put on an overhead projector.. all clear plastic looking stuff.. must be a different kind of printer too because the ink was so rubbery... thanks for the help so far...
Here is what I think...If you buy these from a craft store/dept. store you are buying overpriced crap. Jpss and jet opaque as mentioned (and it seems to be the popular choices) are quality..even tho' you have to buy in larger orders to justify the shipping .. you are still getting a better quality and lower cost per sheet.
Im using my low quality leftover stock for hats which dont take the same abuse as tees so they look good longer.
decent gerry. i will have to start investigating the rigth stuff to get to work with that jpss and jet opaque. i presume its a new printer and paper i would have to buy..
stil llots of learning to do.. those forever green printes seem like they worked really nicely..
Ill be honest with you, Ive only ever used avery from staples or walmart..whatever, I just read these forums alot and see the nice quality they seem to have. I dont have hands on xp,I only know that hobbystore stuff is just that...hobby stuff, great to impress the grandparents..not the paying customers!
Lots of threads on this topic here, sorry but I dont have links.
Yes, that is an excellent quality transfer paper for whites, and near whites. Another excellent product for dark colors would be IRONALL DARK Opaque Inkjet Heat Transfer Paper. It's made by Hyatt Innovative Solutions and is sold under many different names.
hey im having problems with my jpss to stick to my shirts. im using 55% HEMP45% ORGANIC COTTEN NICE QUALITY SHIRTS. it seems as it doesnt stick and the white. where theres no ink stays white correct, or should it go clear?
whats the best ink to use i have a desket 4210 its just a basic deskjet. is there a better t shirt specific or jpss specific ink??
thanks.. still dont know how to print the rummer looking ones on clear peper i got from micheals.. save the planet its the only one with chocolate
