Default Need some info on converting graphics...

My client has sent me a .jpg of his album cover and he wants it put on a black tee...naturally I thought DTG is the way to go but the company that I have set up to do the job requires the file to be to size and also in a .png format.

Can someone tell me why a .png format and what is the best way to convert it over from a .jpg? Can the .png file be resized or should I get a vector file for it then convert to a .png.

I do own Corel X4 but just starting to use it so I am a little lost.

You need to get the graphics in a format that has a transparent background; a PNG for example. The common formats printers can use are PSD, EPS, PNG, Layered TIFF.

You also want to make sure you have the graphic at least 200 dpi full printing size if you can’t get an EPS (Vector) format of the image.

PNG format is the new version of a GIF, it's a lossless universal file format (much better quality then .jpg)

i'd have to see the image in order to tell you if it would be best to have it redrawn as a vector, it all depends on the style of design.

If this was for an album cover, maybe the original file used to produce the album cover is much better quality then the jpg they sent.
