Make your design bigger in photoshop. Create your designs in the same size you will want on your tees.

Then you need to print on transparancies that are bigger, or split the printing up among two or more transparencies, then tape them together. You can do this in the "print with preview" section of photoshop.

Aaron is right. Printing on multiple paper sized transparencies and taping them together is one option.

Buying a larger format printer and using larger transparencies is another.

Or having the larger transparency printed by someone else who has large format printers is another option. Companies like Kinkos, Staples, etc.

Make sure you do not have "fit to paper size" checked.

Not blown up at Kinkos. Create your images in Photoshop the same size you want to print.

Blowing up raster files will make them more pixelated.

I try to follow this...yet if you have a design, say that's close to 5x16, do you guys still use 300dpi? Cuz that's like 24mb psd file...

Rojas,

You might be better served if you find a service bureau in your area that can take your (separated)files and output them to whatever size you have set up. You might even approach a large printing operation that has on-site film output capabilities and sub the work to them. Everybody is looking for some action nowadays.

As far as Photoshop sizing goes, memory is dirt cheap compared to way back in the days. Just buy more RAM.

Right just loading and working in a 30-40mb file can get sluggish sometimes that's all.

Wow... Not to make light of your situation but I wish my files were 30-40 mbs. I'd probably get my weekends off. My average file size is 200-300 mb's. The largest I've ever received compressed at 750 mb and opened somewhere around 2 gigs.

Is anyone else working with large files like me or am I the only sucker in this joint?

A good reason, depending on the design, to use vector software like Illustrator or Corel.
