Default Design Sizing

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had a sizing rule of thumb. I am new to shirt design and have been wasting a lot of transparencies trying to get a designs size right. I see what size it is in illustrator, and then hold up a ruler to the shirt, but its misleading. Any tips, tricks, or suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

Default Re: Design Sizing

most of my front prints are 13-14" wide unless it is really tall, then it may be more then 10" wide.

this is for L - 2XL

Default Re: Design Sizing

We generally go up to 13" wide and 15" tall for most images. This size will fit on the majority of t-shirt sizes. Smaller women's sizes will require smaller designs.
