Re: how many screens? Like splathead said it would be that many colors if you were to use all of the colors shown in the picture. However I can see some colors that could be merged together to eliminate screens. What color will the shirt be? If it's one of the colors in the print then you can eliminate that color as well.

Re: how many screens? The background is more than likely the shirt color. On the smallest number would be 4. Red ,white, Blue, Black, with 2 half tones on the blue screen.

Re: how many screens? I would print it as red, white, blue, gray, black unless he absolutely wants to pay for the unnecessary colors.
