Default Solid text printing as half tones

Hi everyone.Just a quick question.I am trying to print solid text but its coming out as a half tone.I am using photo shop and printing to a laser printer.Thanks in advance

Check your printer's DPI output resolution. Maybe it is in Econo Mode, Try printing it in Normal Mode with atleast 600dpi or highest resolution.

I have set the printer to 600 and toner setting on max still no change.

Do you have any third party software or plugins for RIP there in your PS (Fastfilms, Accurip, others)? As I remember reading the same, in which these plugins generally caused your text printing on halftones...

Or your PS is defined to Print RIPs, kindly check.

If you are getting halftones then your printer has an on-board RIP, in PS choose separations as the colour space.

your text isnt a solid 100% black...this has happened to me before...put your mouse over the text and see if it is in fact a 100% black...sounds like its 90% , so the rip thinks it needs to be halftoned.to fix this this is what I do.

make a selection of the text
goto the channels pallete
make new channel
fill selection with black(000000)
deselect
put mouse over text .now it should read 100% black and print solid , no halftone.
