Default How to get correct color with translucent ink?

Hello, I am wondering if there is a common way to simulate the final t-shirt colors that you'd get when using a translucent ink.

For example, I start with a kelly green and get a washed out gray green when placed on a white shirt:

My goal is to process the original graphic with some kind of offset so that the printed result matches the original graphic.

I.e. Original Color + Shirt color + Color Shift = Original Color (printed on shirt)

Could I use some kind of blending function in GIMP or Photoshop?

If I'm not clear on the goal, please let me know!

Thanks!!!

Marc
