Hi everyone.
i;m pretty new to pshop and i really need sum help.
i need to print a simple text logo but its coming out pixelated/jagged.
can anybody help me out?
i am using pshop and printinf my film from lexmark e120 laser printer.
thanks!
What resolution are you working at? I'd suggest working at a minimum of 300 dpi. Also, your file should be created at least to the size you want to print at. What can you tell us about the image - file type, resolution, etc. If it is a low res client supplied image I'd suggest getting to work re-drawing it.
Example - if your art is set up at 5" x 5" don't try to print it out at 12" x 12". General rule of thumb - don't increase the size of raster art.
For me, as a rule, I try to keep my text in illustrator when possible. Most of my work is done in illustrator, but if I am doing art that requires photoshop I will place the finished photoshop file into an illustrator document, create text and output from illustrator - when I can. Vector art is resolution independent - and I prefer the nice crisp lines it generates.
People may say the difference is negligiable as long as your raster text is of a nice high resolution - and I'd agree I guess. At the end of the day vector type just makes me feel better so that is the way I work.
its just a simle 1 color text reading "frenz" that i want to create in pshop size 27cm*13cm it sounds simple but how do i do that in simple english/
thanks 4 your reply
1) try to start with a new document
2) make sure the new document is the size you want to print (27cm x 13cm)
3) make sure the new document resolution is 300 dpi
4) make the art
5) try to print
i did that but my text comes smaller when printed out?
preset: custom
width:27
height:13
res:300 pix/cm
rgb color 8 bit
background contents :transparent.
Again,thanks.
Hmm... the only thing I can suggest is make sure "scale to fit media" is unchecked and that "scale" is set to 100% in the print dialog. (see attachment)
That aside I don't think I can help, but be patient - there are a lot of knowledgeable folks here and someone will be able to help.
