Hi sorry to ask a newbie question but hopefully someone can point me to the right part of this site so that I can continue my research.

I would like to be able to print full size photo quality pictures on t-shirts (some of which will be black t-shirts). I want the images to be bigger than the little square that most online companies force your picture to be in. I would like to be able to have the same image wrap around onto sleeves and front to back.

Also I do NOT want the images to be square. For example... If I wanted a picture of a black dog on a red shirt, I do not want the black dog to be in a white square on a red shirt. I could trim the images in photoshop but I do not know who to send the images to for printing.

I really like Luxe-Ts and could buy a large quantity but I do not know how to get the designs on the shirt? Is there someone in the South Carolina area that could print shirts for me? Or should I buy a printer myself? Which printer is best for printing on dark shirts?

You will have to do your homework on this one.

If you decide to go the purchase route. Any DTG that prints on dark color has to be run very often (daily). Some machines are required to be running 24x7 to keep the white ink mixed so the solids do not settle.

The dark color garments have to be treated before they can be printed on. If done incorrectly, the image will wash out during the first wash. Ask for a sample of what the machine is capable of doing print wise. Check it out carefully. I found some to be far worse than screen printing ever could be.

Print heads are an expense item you are told about upfront. The titanium in the white ink is very abrasive and wears them out fast. Cost are somewhere around $400 a piece. The only machines that use print head design for the job are Brother and Kornit. You get what you pay for.

I say contract your work out or do heat transfers.
