Default Need Help with my first designs PLEASE...

I am new to this designing, so sorry if this is a stupid question.

I made some designs on a piece of lined paper. So to get those designs colored, I would scan them to gimp or another program??? (Would I scan them????)

Then, how would I get those designs to the screen printing shop after I colored them????
Very confused
Please help

thank you

Several ways: one you could trace your work on to a piece of paper with out the lines, scanning the lined piece will still leave you with the line that you will have to remove in what ever program you use.

You can trace your piece by laying a sheet of bond paper over your design a simple light table is to tape your art work to a window light will pass through and trace away, then scan, no line, Adobe photoshop is a good program to work with, open scanned file use magic wand to select area in your design to fill with color use fill bucket after selecting your colors, click inside of wand area should fill with color continue till you have filled your design. this should get you a color proof you can then send to a graphic print shop as a PDF file.
hope this helps

Thank you very much that was very helpful, but I have one more question.

Would Photoshop Elements work just as well or is there any other program I can get for cheap?
