Default How to prepare files for embroidery?

Hey!

This is my first time getting into embroidery and im wondering if there is anything i should do to help prepare my file for the printer. Im going to supply a vector PDF but i have read a bit on the forum about 'digitizing' but not sure what exactly it is. I dont need to 'digitize' it but if there is anything i can do to ease the process let me know i guess.

Thanks

If it is vectorized that should be good enough. I'm guessing by "printer" you mean embroiderer. If they will be digitizing the design, you might want to contact them to ask what they prefer. It kind of depends on their digitizing software.

It does not have to be high res stuff. File format you have some choices. All depends on how you are going to submit the file and they're software. I've been given jpg before, long as it is clean and defined.

What Jerry said I don't think I've ever been given a vector file for digitizing. jpg, bmp, whatever is available. It depends on the level of exactness you want and the skill of the digitizer. Only VERY ornate logos or files that have to be exact, need a vector file.
