Default Creating a slightly aged text effect

Hi, I'd like to mess with some lettering I've got to create a slightly aged effect, not unlike the kind you see on "ironic" comic book/tv show shirts shirts E.G

Baywatch Babe Tee

Prefferably without using the "splatter" filter.

Any help is much appreciated

yes... use a mask... or you can use a photoshop brush with the eraser tool and stamp some distress patterns into your design...
