Default seperating duotone

hello again....yet another question ....

I want to print an image as a duotone....I am stuck on how to seperate the image into seperations for each color I would like to use.its a greyscale image, but would like to convert to duotone and pick dark grey and white as my 2 colors.....then how to set each color on its own layer ..to print the positives seperatly......any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Inked

Image- mode- multi channel. Channels are basically printing positives or negatives.

You can make the duotone using layers as shown below,
When you are satisfied, merge the curves with the layers, and copy the now merged layers to channels.

Convert the grayscale images to a profile with enough dot gain before you make the halftones.

You may need to use transparent (process) inks on white background to get a good match with, what you see on the screen. I don't think fully opaque inks will mix to a smooth gradient.
