Smile Phantasm CS + RIP software; the potential

After looking at some demo videos of the separation capabilities the Phantasm CS plug-in has to offer, I believe this to be a potential addition in a screenprinter's toolkit. Even though Phantasm has the ability to create halftones, ( and worth experimenting with) having the RIP program do the output would save a step; if needed. Is there any one out there that has used this plug-in or even considered it.

I was just thinking the same thing.
Editable vector half tone dots!
$133 for the extended version! It's worth it for all the other design tools.
I have my credit card out... I'll let you know.

It even has halftone swatches and a tool to use text as halftone dots!

This is going to be awesome...

Thumbs up Re: Phantasm CS + RIP software; the potential

I purchased the full version of the phantasm software and it has been coming in very handy. I used it first for a simple halftone shirt design and then for a vinyl halftone gradient on the side of a 25' box truck. It's very easy to use and versatile.
Next I will try it on a 6 color process/spot separation.
Give it a try!

Did any body end up having any luck using this plug-in for screen printing graphic design? I'm considering getting it myself.

Thanks,

Evan

I've been using Phantasm for a while now but I feel that for screen printing, your better off converting separations to bitmap in photoshop. Phantasm is great for other applications. We do a lot of other types of printing and design at our shop and it helps out in those areas. Here is a gradient it created for vinyl.
