Default Lettering - What Size?

Hi All

We're quite often asked to produce shirts for small groups - maybe Hen & Stag nights etc.

Often, we're given a list of nicknames, comments & pictures.

Is there a 'general' method of sizing letters? They want the Name larger than the comment

e.g
1st shirt
Name - Bride
Comment - Last Night of Freedom

2nd shirt
Name - Chief Bridesmaid
Comment - Boss

Analysing the above, the name ins shirt 1 is just 5 letters but in shirt 2, it's 17 (inc. space). The Comment in shirt 1 is 21 letters (inc. spaces), in shirt 2, it's just 4.

So the constraints are, the size of the shirt and the brief that the name should be larger than the comment.

Do you determine the same width of text for ALL shirts?

Do you create the text to the same height?

Do you resize prportionately?

I use Coreldraw.

Cheers

John
