Default Pulling Out Colors

I have a design that I am trying to pull the color out of. It is vector and in corel draw. Just trying to group them all together so i can change the color. For example. I want to group all the red and change to black, but some of the red is behind another color or it's all over the design. Is there any way to pull all the red out and make black or do I have to go clicking all the red and group them together. I am new at this so any tips would be great.

You can either use the Replace Object (Edit, Find & Replace, Replace Object), or you can use color styles.

For Find & Replace, choose "Replace a Color", select the red that needs replaced, select the black to replace it to, and finish. The only issue is if you have different shades, they won't get replaced.

For color styles, go to Tools, then click Color Styles. You should now have a new tab, select the graphic file you're working on in the Color Styles Tab, click the "Auto Create Styles" button. Let it create styles for all the fills. After it's done you should see all colors in the design for fills, right click the one you want to change and choose "Edit color", select the black to change it to and you're done.

Are you trying to seperate your colors?
If your having problems speaking to an object because of another object is infront of it- LOCK the object you dont want to talk to-the Corel will let you talk to the object behind

Sir, First in Corel Draw go to Windows menu-Color Palettes then select Create palette from Selection or Create palette from Document either one will work, this will create an exclusive color palette containing all the colors on your design.
Second, you need a VBA Macro named Color Replacer, it is from Oberon, it is free, so download it, install the Macro in Corel and you are done, you can change any color in your design with only 1 mouse click.
You don't have to go hunting colors any longer.
Here is the link:
CorelDRAW/Corel DESIGNER VBA macros
Hope this can help you,
Challenger

Default Re: Pulling Out Colors

Or you can do this -

-Go into the Windows tab at the top, then hover over Dockers and make sure you have a check mark next to Color Styles.

-A new window should pop up and have a folder with the names of your current open documents. Click the folder and it will show you all the colors used in that file.
-To replace them you right click on the color you want to replace and choose edit color. Once you change the color to whatever you want it will "find" all of those pieces in your design and replace them all with your new color. So you won't have to "find" and select each individual piece.

To refresh the list in the docker window - delete them all (don't worry, doing this won't delete your design) then select all pieces of your design and drag them over into this docker window and they should all pop back up- correctly refreshed.

Replace colour is the best option. or it can be done even in paint. Or try overlapping another colour above that. it may work.

I thought "replace color" was only available in Corel Photo Paint. I don't think it is in Corel Draw that is why I recommended the Color Styles. That is what I use anyway, it seems to be the easiest.

I have installed a macro for this same thing as Fluid mentions, but I end up just using the Color Styles anyway. Sometimes the macro messes with my color palettes and I have to go back and close/delete the extra color palettes that the macro created. Maybe there is a better macro out there than the one I have. I would go in and change the macro coding if I knew how, but I would just probably screw it up more trying to fix it.

I believe it is called find and replace. you have options for color, text, etc.

I'm going to go try to find it right now!

Even when you think you know how to do something, you find out new things about it all the time!

Should be at least from V12 to X4. Honestly I don't remember father back than that.

Also it would be located under
Edit / Find and Replace
choose objects and then pick your specs in the resulting dialog

Default Re: Pulling Out Colors

color styles is a lot easier IMO.
Once your done with the design, open the color styles docker. click on the first color in the docker and hold the delete key. Delete al lthe colors in the docker for your project. Once the filed is clear of all colors, select the design, drag and drop it into the color styles docker field. This will place all the colors used in your design.

You can then right click a color and pick a new color, hit apply and it will change all objects to with that specified color to your new color.

This is a lot more user friendly than the find and replace.

Just try it with a simple 2-3 color image or create something simple like rectangles and ellipse's and test. youll like it I promise
