hey all. just wondering if anyone has run into this problem:

after i place a bitmap photoshop image into illustrator and proceed to live trace it alot of times i won't be able to do anything after that. i might be able to get to live paint but either way (it doesn't freeze).....it just won't let me select another tool, create another layer, nothing etc. it will let me save the file, or quit the program. if i save the file and try to do anything, nothing. all i get is the damn audio error sound "QUACK" THAT I'M ABOUT TO CHANGE! AAAARRRGGGGGHH!!!

i run it on mac osx 10.5. i bought the machine loaded with the adobe creative suite cs3. i was previously uising illy 10 and pretty much knew the in's and out's of it. not this.

i think i figured it out. i haven't been converting from live trace to live paint. i think.

not sure if its the same thing, when ive used live trace i could never edit the image afterwards until i realised i had to click expand in order for it to sort of "release" the artwork for me to then edit it
