Default I Need Help With Dimensions in Print Area

Hello!!

I have begun my new screen print shop. I have researched and called a few company's about what size of a design should be ready when ready to be printed from the ink printer (not on the screen yet)

I know most designs are bigger than a standard piece of paper for T Shirt printing.

But what if I don't have the paper right now for bigger sizes. Is there another standard size I can use within the standard size of a clear over head transparency paper?

Is there another way I can get the image to meet the regular standard screen print size?

Thank You for all your Help!!!

Peace

I'm guessing you want to do full chest designs that are up to 13in wide? I guess if all you have are 8.5 x 11 paper size you can always print the design on two pieces of paper and use maybe 4 crop marks on top and bottom... 4 crop marks per sheet... then line them up via the crop marks and tape them together?

I come to suspect separating the whole design and having full color 4 or more colors would be time consuming just to get it all line up. I imagine it would be hard to do.

Please help.

Nativeera,

You'll need to put crop marks on your art work. One in each corner of the art board. So when you print the colors, the crop marks will be on each piece of vellum, (if you are doing silk screen). If you know how, and it's easy, Illustrator will separate the colors for you via the print dialog. Or you can manually do it and copy the design for ever how many colors you have... turn green to black... all other colors white. Then the next copied design change one of the other colors to black, all others white.

Does that make sense?
