Default Creating Flames in CS3 Illustrator

Can anyone give me some insight on creating flame techniques in Illustrator CS3. Thanks, Jason

If you are just talking about drawing a flame, then adding color to it. Draw your flame, them open your gradient window and choose linear in the drop down menu. You can change the default colors which is black and white to red and orange and/or yellow. Move the sliders to adjust the look. The gradient tool allows you to change direction of the gradient. Hope that makes sense! Or even what you are needing!!

I think the blend tool under the object menu would be more suitable, take two objects and create a set of 'tweens'.
