Default Color separation help in adobe

Im new to all of this but understand some of the basics of adobe. What I need help with is taking a picture of a car and putting it onto a shirt. Although the car is one color, it has many shades because of light and shadows. I really could use some help with getting this image ready. Any ideas where to start?

This photo is most likely 3 colors, RGB for viewing on computer monitors. It's the default for all photo cameras. When preparing for output, you would need to convert the file to CMYK. (aka four color process, aka full color)

This would be reproduced on a shirt by using 4 screens. One for Cyan, one for Magenta, one for Yellow, and one for Black. (on a white shirt)

Or there's always DTG, transfers, etc.

Hope that helps.

How would you go about doing that conversion in Photoshop?

Cmyk on white t-shirt. Simulated ,6 or more color job with underbase on dark tees.
