i have a few vector packs that ive downloaded containing various things such as flowers - music equipment - arrows - people etc etc all in vectors, if i mix a few of these together is it illegal to sell them, as i didnt create the original vectors myself?
Dave has said it well...what you can use commercially depends on the conditions at the site where you obtained it..beware the term 'royalty free' that does not necessarily mean you can use it in a commercial operation..just that you..the individual..do not have to pay for your own use.
When you say "sell them" do you mean the graphics on a t-shirt, or the graphics themselves? The graphics on a t-shirt will depend on what rights the author has released (commercial use or personal use, etc.), but no author releases the right to re-sell the graphics themselves in another vector pack.
Our FREE VECTORS may be used for your own DESIGNS, or your client designs but you may not sell/offer for free our VECTORS in any sort of collection, such as distributing to a third party via CD, diskette, or letting others to download them from your websites etc.
What does this mean in terms of using their designs for commercial use?
What I understand is that you can sell the shirt with the design on it but, you cannot copy the cd, or any part of it and then sell or lend just the design to any third party.
That's what I thought - i just didn't feel it was completely explicit but I guess "for your own DESIGNS, or your client designs" covers the commercial aspect.
