OK I am in need of some help here. I have a hp designjet 5500 I am wanting to see if it will be possible to print on vinyl weather it means that I a have seel it with a spray sealer or what. Someone help me please

I do not do this type of printing, but I do believe that if your printer has solvent inks, it should be fine to print vinyl with, however if they are pigment I think they would need to be sealed. If you look in this section Vinyl Signs and Decals - T-Shirt Forums, you should be able to find more information on what types of inks do not need a sealant.

Also using the search feature at the top of the page may bring you some results as well.

I run a shop that uses a HP5500, you can print on vinyl, if you ask your supplier for adhesive backed vinyl if thats what you're interested in they should have it for you. We usually laminate ours with a 1 mil gloss laminate and its good to go. If you're interested in printing vinyl for banners you need to look into scrim banner material. The ink is water based and will not cure to glossy banners like you get off of a solvent printer. It will stay on scrim banner though, the only drawback is, is that its not as protected and scratches pretty easily. We use the heavyweight coated setting when printed on scrim banner because it makes the colors pop. I'm very familiar with the HP5500, PM me if you need more info.
