Question removed the background on my image, but the actual image is now too light. what next?

I am doing my first shirt. Actually my first 700 shirts. On the back they are wanting sponsors. I have scanned in the logo and figured out how to seperate the layers to get rid of the backgrounf but once i remove the background the image is light. Whats my next step? Just trace over the whole image with the paint brush or pencil tool? OR am i WAY off?

Thanks!

I personally would use a program like Adobe Illustrator that uses vector. I've never used GIMP so I can't direct you in what you need to do next. For me I would vectorize the logo(s) and print the separations. I did a search for an open software like Illustrator and came across "Inkscape" maybe others can help you out better. Sorry.

I am probably not saying this correctly, but duplicate the layer that the image is on that is to light and merge it with the old layer Control E. More like stacking one layer with another to darken the image sometimes it brings back some detail.

You can use the image control curves to force the image to black & white. It'll be image>adjustment>curves or similar.

My guess is that you removed the background using the select by color tool.
That will lighten up the whole image if you have a white background.
Try using the fuzzy select tool to select the background and you might be happier with the result.
