Some of the more popular clipart companies at the trade shows are Great Dane Graphics, Digital Art Solutions and Action Illustrated. I guess my only question is why are you focused on clipart when you have a dtg printer? Clipart is more likely to show banding than a raster graphic and printing raster graphics will help separate your company / designs from the average screen printer. Here is a link to a blog post I wrote that gives you an example - Raster or Vector Graphic Software for dtg Printing? Which one? Direct-to-Garment Printing | DAGuide. The key is that a dtg printer will provide you with the ability to print more detailed graphics - so why not use it? Just something to consider.

Thank you for your comments and article. What is your opinion of vector art products that are marketed as "photo-realistic" or "monochrome?"

Hi Cooper,

I myself use a lot of the stuff from digital art solutions and great dane. They both have really nice graphics, although Digital art solutions are vector based, where as great dane's are Raster files. They both print great though, although I guess that also depends on what rip program you are using to, and what programs it allows you to print out of. Those are all things to take into consideration when buying graphics. I have not problems with any of them though, and like both.

So much of this is going to come down to what your customers / target market like and are willing to pay for. The one thing I will say is that most good art is not cheap. This is the #1 thing in my opinion that can bring a new client in and the #1 thing for why they will come back - not being the cheapest priced.

Good luck,

Mark

Being able to print detailed photo realistic images is a big advantage. This is one aspect that all dtg owners should push when marketing their business. Vector graphics are still great to print and have great style. But just remember, you are not limited to how many colors you can print and can print any type and style of artwork which is another big advantage.
