Angry How do you remove the box around a graphic

How on earth do you remove the box around a graphic? I'm using Corel X3 and paint. I import a graphic and there is a white box behind the graphic. I only want the graphic! I know it's probably something really easy but it's driving me nuts...Anyone,Anyone....

Alternatively open it up in photopaint and use the background eraser before opening in draw.

There are a couple of ways. What Dan says is easy...take the image into photopaint and select cutout lab and take out the background. There are also several tutorials that show how to do this. google the tutorials

To expand on Charles solution, if you just have a white background it would actually be easier to just use the mask tool and clip.

Here's one way to remove the white box around a bitmap image.

Open the image in Photopaint.
Use the magic wand tool to mask around it.
Under effects - invert the mask.
Save the image somewhere as a "cpt" corel photopaint file.
Now when you import the image into Coreldraw the white box is not visible. Voila!
