Default Simple 1 color design help

Good day everyone! I'm pretty new to the screen printing industriy and had some questions about a design. I have to create several one color designs for different baseball teams. The design is going to have the same set up for each team, the team name with a tail with writing inside the tail. What is the best way to construct this design so that I can repeat the tail with the words in the tail but just change each team name accordingly. I was having trouble attaching an example of the design, so you can e-mail me at [email address] if you would like to see a reference. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks everyone!

I would make the tail separate, like in a new layer. then use whatever name you have. just adjust the front of the tail to the last letter of each name.

this is assuming you are using a design program like corel draw or adobe illustrator.

Im using Illustrator and Photoshop. Would I have to design each name individually, or is there a way to modify a font to fit the tail? I believe the font for the team names is a athletic script. So I could use a stock font that Illustrator provides, but is it possible to modify each letter or even the last letter of the word to fit the tail if I use a stock font? Thanks Jordan

once you find the font and size you want, type it out and then right click on the whole text and make it an outline. it says something to that effect. then the words will be just a bunch of lines and you can manipulate them as you wish. then you just connect the tail to the words and join them together. i'm not my own computer right now or i would walk you through the actual menu options.

good luck!

If i need text to be form fitted in a certain shape but need to alter the text i use the WARP EFFECT in illustrator. I get my text all situated and then i goto >effect>Warp.. from there i click the 'preview' check box and then play around until i get the effect i need. If i want to edit the text at this point it still maintains the shape/effect i want.
