hey you guys. i am really new in this biz. and i need advice on which softwares to use for designing t-shirts. i have delux t-shirt factory. but i just wanted to know if there are better versions.
You can do ton of design work in photoshop... I use to strictly use that for everything but than vectors came in play so I got Ai and it was match made in heaven
you could spend a bunch of time going over this thread that THANKFULLY is now dead: Adobe vs Corel . it talks about peoples opinions on each program. long story short.. either adobe or corel is fine, just spend the time to learn em.
If you have any questions when you get into the programs.. feel free to ask, there are tons of helpful people here in each program.. good luck!!
I think one of "Main reasons" Ai is the industry standard is because most large if not all firms use Pdf or Ai files
Many if not most will tell you they won't accept corel files

Most people are using either CorelDraw or AI, those are the file types that printers will want and they are therefore 'industry standards', I offer no opinion as to which is best, I have found that the weakest feature of both programmes (I use both) is ME, who has one or two design faults. I shall put in a formal complaint to Adobe.
^True! Personally I think Corel is easier to get the hang of and self teach...AI has a ton more "how to's" out there on the web. so if you are a person who is a learn by the books, Adobe might be better for you. If you are a learn by jumping in and sink or swimming person, then Corel might be better for you. Both have export to EPS capabilities, which is more of an industry standard format IMO.
