I am trying to print a logo as big as i can on an 8.5 x 11 transfer sheet using corel draw x3 and a brother hl-1440 laser printer. I have tried for hours playing with settings on both the printer and corel draw. I start with a new document in corel (letter size and landscape). I import my logo and it shows the edges of the logo on the edges of the document layout. When I go to print the the first 1/4 inch at the start and end of the paper does not print. So part of the logo is cut off at both ends. I am pulling my hair out at this point. Can anyone help me please.
What does the print preview show?
All printers need a top & bottom margin.
It shows a dotted line on the right and top sides and shows my logo cut. On the left and bottom there is no dotted line but my logo is cut about the same distance as the other side. So iis it something I need to change in my printer settings? I can't find anywher to set margins in my printer settings.
Your printer will have set margins, the paper has to be held at one roller whilst printing, therefore you need a fixed space (margin) from the edge.
An A3 printer won't print an A3 image. A3 is the sheet size.
The dotted line is your print area, some printers will print in this area whilst not guaranteeing quality.
Thanks all for the help. I think it is a fixed margin issue like Dave said. I guess I will have to go out and buy some larger transparencies. Can anyone tell me where to get some cheap?
